28 Feb Celebrating Karen’s Retirement
As Karen, our manager and friend, approaches her retirement after years of dedicated service, we at Bloomington Affordable Self Storage can’t help but feel a mix of emotions. It’s hard to imagine the company without Karen, but we know that she’ll carry her passion for life and work with her wherever she goes.
“Karen has been a blessing for this facility, my wife and myself, and most importantly the many clients’ lives that she has touched by her love and personal service.” says Doug, president of BASS. “It was Karen’s personal professional touch with each client that helped set Bloomington Affordable Storage apart from other facilities in the community. I personally appreciate all she has done for the warehouse facility but I think I most treasure the friendship we have developed.”
Karen has been with us for the last 8 years and during that time she has made a lasting mark on our company. She has been a true cornerstone of our storage company, helping us grow into the successful business we are today. Graciously, she agreed to head the team that took on the project of turning this facility around six years ago. She was an answer to prayer at the time as she put her heart and soul into achieving this goal. Her leadership has been instrumental in building a company that fosters teamwork and genuine care for our clients.
“I couldn’t have been more blessed taking on this job and having Doug and Elisa Duncan as my source of encouragement and support,” says Karen. “With my approaching retirement, I will be focusing on spending more time with my family and friends!”
Karen is mainly looking forward to helping her daughter, Jennifer, fulfill her continued dreams of wheelchair racing! Born with Spina Bifida, her daughter has been her source of joy for the last 47 yrs. Karen has been proudly supporting her daughter’s racing for about 9 yrs, just before joining the team at BASS. Last year, Jennifer won 1st place for her age group in the 2022 Mag 7 Race Series here in Bloomington! She also looks forward to supporting her great nieces playing softball this Summer. What fun!

“Along the way I have met some very interesting people & some good friends,” shares Karen.
Our team and our clients have had the pleasure to be supported by such a special person. As we look back on Karen’s time with us, we can’t help but be impressed and grateful. We’re thrilled for her to embark on this exciting new chapter in her life but we’ll also miss her dearly.
So here’s to you, Karen – thank you for everything you’ve done for us! We’ll miss you more than words can say and we are thrilled to see what wonderful things you and your daughter will accomplish in the future. You have earned this time to relax and spend time with your loved ones. Congratulations on your retirement and know that you’ll always be a cherished member of our company family.
THANK YOU and wish you the VERY BEST ALWAYS!!
